ISI personnel to visit PSM today

Karachi: Fourteen officers of the country’s premier intelligence agency will visit headless Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) on October 11 (today).

In line with media reports, fourteen member delegation of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) will be briefed about the security of country’s largest industry complex despite technical aspects of it.

Sources within the industry are of the view that ISI personnel visit to PSM is good move towards its revival.

It has been also learnt that affairs of PSM will be handed over to any subordinate department of Army and in this regard names of Fuji Foundation and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) are under consideration.

According to documents available with media, acting principle executive officer, acting chief financial officer, corporate secretary and incharge PP and C will brief the delegation about production capacity of PSM, number of employees, condition of plants and other technical aspects of PSM at conference hall.

Members of the PSM will also brief the delegation about the security situation of the Mills.

It is vital to mention here that production of PSM is closed since June 2015 and employees of the mills are deprived of four month salaries while retired employees are waiting for their dues.
