Three Pakistanis win Next Generation of Family Planning Leaders Award

ISLAMABAD: The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health announced the 2017 winners of 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders today.

120 Under 40 recognizes and highlights the achievements of the next generation of family planning leaders worldwide. This year’s 40 winners are advocates, researchers, service providers, epidemiologists, medical doctors, program officers, communications/media professionals, and founders of NGOs and nonprofits. They work all over the world—in clinics and universities, in offices, and in the field—to advance family planning and reproductive health.

Three Pakistanis winners who have won Next Generation of Family Planning Leaders Award are Mansoor Qaisar, a Senior Information Officer at the Population Council who is also a Freelance Journalist, Laraib Abid, the founder of Mashal, a non-profit organization and Joshua Dilawar, a project officer at non-profit Samaj Development Foundation.

While talking to Media Mr. Mansoor Qaisar said that 120Under40 highlights some of the best & brightest young people in the field of Family Planning and Reproductive Health. It recognizes the next generation of leaders making a difference in FP and SRHR worldwide. Gates Foundation shines a light on the positive disruptions of young leaders in Family Planning.
