ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of Islamabad High Court Journalists Association.

In her message, she felicitated Rizwan Qazi for his election as President and Hussain Ahmed Chaudhry as Secretary General of the association.

She also congratulated Senior Vice President Farah Mahjabeen, Senior Joint Secretary Imran Mansab Khan, Finance Secretary Haseeb Riaz Malik, Joint Secretary Bisharat Raja and Press Secretary Ambreen Ali as well as all the elected members of the Governing Body.

The Minister said court reports have a significant role in journalism. She expressed the hope that the newly elected representatives of the association will come up to the expectations of their fellow reporters.

Meanwhile Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of former Information Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan’s mother on Monday.

The mother of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was being treated at PIMS Islamabad and breathed her last on Monday. The funeral prayer of the deceased was offered at Masjid and Imambargah Imam Sadiq, G-9/2, Islamabad.

In a condolence message, Marriyum Aurangzeb sympathized with Dr. Firdous Awan and termed her mother’s death a great tragedy for the bereaved family.

She prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
