SC moved for imposing ban on release of funds against over Rs 100 billion development budget approved for Gujarat division

ISLAMABAD:The process of Development Budget amounting to Rs over100 billion approved by Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for Gujarat division has been challenged in Supreme Court (SC).

The petitioner has prayed the court to impose ban on release of the funds.

The petition has been filed by advocate Mian Dad. The petitioner has taken the plea in the petition that Punjab government while allocating illegally over Rs 100 billion development funds for Gujarat division has released these funds in the name of different bogus schemes in the constituency of CM Punjab.

Article 120 and 124 of the constitution have been flagrantly breached while approving the said development schemes and releasing the funds. The SC has in its previous order declared approval to the development funds without yes nod from assembly illegal.

The petitioner requested the court to impose ban on the release of the said development funds besides ordering probe into development projects of billion of rupees approved for lonely Gujarat Division without the approval of Punjab Assembly.

Punjab government, Chairman NAB and other respective departments have been made respondents in the petition.
