Two killed in firing at Nato container in Jamrud

Jamrud: A t least two people including a driver was killed when unidentified men opened fire at two Nato containers in Khyber Agency of Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan, officials said on Tuesday.

Security officials said that the assailants opened fire the container, coming from Afghanistan, in Sokamar area of Jamrud, main town of the agency. Resultantly, the driver and his assistant died on the spot.

Two others wounded in Tuesday ambush who were later shifted to Jamrud hospital.

The country’s security forces rushed to site soon after the incident and cordoned off the area and launched search operation.

It is important to mention here that Nato supplies were restored from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after judgment of Peshawar High Court as PTI led government in the province had blocked these supplies almost for three months in protest against drone strikes in Pakistan.
