12 killed, 28 others injured in three separate road accidents

BHAKKAR/SAHIWAL/NOWSHERA: Twelve people were killed and 28 others injured in three separate road accidents in Sahiwal, Mianwali-Muzafargarh road near Fazil Adda in Bhakkar and Nowshera on Saturday.

Four people were killed and seven others were injured when a passenger van caught fire due to gas leakage on national high in Sahiwal. The injured have been shifted to DHQ Sahiwal.

Meanwhile five passengers were killed and 20 others injured in a head on collision between a passenger bus and a Trailer on Mianwali-Muzafargarh road near Fazil Adda in Bhakkar on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, the passenger bus was traveling from Karachi to Manshera at the MM Road near Fazil Adda when the accident occurred.

Rescue sources said women were among those killed and injured in the accident. The injured persons and dead bodies have been shifted in different hospitals of Bhakkar. The killed persons have been identified as 38 years old Neelum Bibi, her five year old son Abdul Qadir, 50 years old Zaibunnisa, resident of Mansehra, 15 years old Ghulam Mustafa, resident of Abbottabad and 45 years old Shabbir, resident of Haripur.

In another, accident three persons of a same family were killed and another injured when their car fell into a deep ravine in Akbarpura area of district Nowshera on Peshawar-Islamabad motorway on Saturday. The killed persons include deputy director family education Shabnam Shireen. The killed persons also include father and mother of Shabman Shireen.
