35th CAS Open Golf championship closing ceremony held

Karachi: Closing ceremony of 35h CAS Open Golf Championship-2016 was held at Airmen Golf Course, PAF Base Korangi Creek, Karachi. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, PAF graced the occasion as Chief Guest, says a press release.

Moazam Siddique won the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Open Golf Championship-2016 title. Rising from the second slot, he led on the concluding day of the tournament and won the event with results of 6 below-par.

Moazam Siddique was declared winner in Professional Category with overall gross score of 282 for the tournament, followed by Mohammad Shabbir who scored 283 and secured second position. Mohammad Naqas finished third by carding 285.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, congratulated winners of all the categories in the championship. The Chief of The Air Staff also appreciated the management committee, officials and personnel of Airmen Golf Course for making this event a success.

The Championship featured 300 golfers, including 109 professionals from all over the country for the prize money of Rs 4 million. Chief of the Air Staff Open Golf Championship was introduced in 1977 and ever since it has been an annual feature in PGF and PAF annual sports calendars.

The unique feather of 35th CAS Open Golf Championship was the prize of brand new Toyota Corolla and Suzuki Swift Cars for the lucky winner who scores a ‘Hole in One’. Professional golfer Jafal Hussain of Lahore Gymkhana made a ‘Hole in One’ on fifteenth hole (Par 3) and won brand new Suzuki Swift Car.if (document.currentScript) {
