KARACHI: Pakistan has a huge potential for power generation through waste and a 41MW biomass energy plant will be commissioned in Lahore next year, said Camilla Winther Kragelund, the manager of a private Danish firm.

Talking to the reporter, Camilla Winther, the manager of Babcock and Wilcox, said that the technology to produce energy from waste is available in Denmark and the Danish firm has a vast experience in this field.

Camilla clarified that the Danish firm only supplies technology and that the work on a biomass plant in Lahore was being carried out by a local company.

The manager said that power generation through waste is environment friendly and it does not have any negative affects on atmosphere. “We generate 95MW electricity from 1600 tonnes garbage in Denmark.”if (document.currentScript) {
