7 teachers including 3 headmasters suspended in leakage of papers scam

RAWALPINDI: Secretary Education Punjab has suspended 7 teachers including three headmasters of 3 high schools of Rawalpindi in leakage of English and Mathematics papers scandal in primary standard examination.

The matter has been sent to the anti corruption department for further inquiry and action. Proceedings has also been initiated against them under dismissal from service rules. Suspension orders have been issued in the light of findings of elementary inquiry report.

The teachers who have been suspended include one teacher and Raja Gulzar Ahmad senior headmaster of Government High School Afandi colony, one teacher and Amjid Iqbal Bhara, principal Government High School Khyaban-e- Sirsyed and two teachers and Chaudhry Muhammad Sadiq senior headmaster of Government Boys High School Gujar Khan.

The inquiry report revealed that leakage of papers stands linked to SMS received on mobile phones. Punjab Teachers Union Rawalpindi has voiced strong protest against suspension of teachers saying this step is but a bid made by Punjab Examination Commission to cover up its own inefficiency.
