A murder committed on the basis of sectarianism will be counted among terrorism: CJP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali has remarked a single murder committed on the basis of sectarianism will be counted among terrorism.

He further remarked “ if some one has personal grudge or personal enmity then how can we say that terrorism related clauses apply to him.

Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked any offence committed on personal enmity is not terrorism. Terror clauses can not be applied unless general public is affected. The judge will have to think while taking up pen in regard to anti terrorism act that if there is no personal grudge and the accused motive is to spread terror then it falls in terrorism. When the accused confesses that he committed murder on the basis of personal enmity then this case will be tried in trial court rather than in anti terrorism court.

A five members larger bench of SC presided over by CJP Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing Monday.

Aitzaz Ahsan appeared on behalf of the accused Tariq Hakim He took the plea that killing any person by targeting is not terrorism. Fear spreads in every case of murder. The burden of cases of personal enmity be shifted from anti terrorism court. Taliban like activities fall under terrorism.
