Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine 80% renovation, reconstruction work completed

Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that eighty percent work of renovation and reconstruction of Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine, extension of its area and provision of other facilities has been completed on which Rs. 400 million have been spent so far.

According to press release, he stated this while talking to media persons after inspection of construction work of the shrine. Advisor to CM for Auqaf Senator Abdul Qayoom Soomro was also present on the occasion. Governor Sindh further said that new dome of the shrine is also being constructed but the existing would be retained as it has tremendous historic value.

The covered area of the shrine was 4000 sq. yards before the initiation of the project, which would become 48000 sq. yards after its completion, he added.

Dr. Ebad further said that the adjacent mosque would also be extended while modern facilities would be provided in parking and qawwali areas.

New lifts would also be made available to facilitate the elderly and disabled in particular while imported tiles from Turkey would be installed to beautify the shrine, he added.

Governor Sindh said it is commendable that devotees were allowed to pay their respects to this great saint despite continuing construction work of the complex.

Governor Sindh later visited Bagh-e-Ibn-e-Qasim. While speaking on the occasion, he said that the process of development is closely linked with law & order. If there is no law & order there would be no progress & prosperity, he observed.

Dr. Ebad further said that as we all know that after floods the priority is always rescue. Following this strategy the restoration and rescue of dilapidated parks and other recreational facilities is being given priority, he said and added that after completion of this phase, new construction and facilities would be made available in these parks.

He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken and eliminated terrorist networks while Karachi operation has also gained significant success against terrorists, extortionists, kidnapers and target killers.

He said that personnel of Rangers and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs)have sacrificed their lives to protect innocent Karachiites. People from all parts of the country are thankful for their untiring and selfless efforts. Deputy Chief Executive of Bahria Town Mr. Zain Malik gave a detailed briefing to Governor Sindh regarding Mazar complex.
