LAHORE: Accountability court on Monday extended judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique till January 24 in Paragon Housing Society scandal.

During the hearing, the accountability court judge Jawwadul Hassan directed NAB prosecutor to hand over the copy of ex-director of the Paragon Housing Society Qaisar Ameen Butt’s statement to the lawyers of Khawaja brothers. The court asked NAB prosecutor during the hearing whether the copy of the statement of Qaiser Ameen Butt has been provided to the lawyers of Khawaja brothers; upon this the NAB prosecutor replies in no.

The court has summoned the witnesses of Maal Department for recording statements on the next hearing of the case.

During the hearing jail authorities presented Salman Rafique in court; however due to presence in Islamabad for attending National Assembly session Saad Rafiqe did not appear before the court.

Strict security arrangements were taken in the court premises to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion of the hearing of the case.
