Rawalpindi: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) a distance learning education system failed to transmit schedules of different courses including list of tutors, tutorial classes and workshops to all of its students across the country including the students from Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas.

According to the details, thousands of victims male and female students of Library Sciences program have termed the delay in issuing schedules a “conspiracy” against them and demanded a thorough investigation of the negligence and inability of the administration of the university.

Sources said that two months have gone by since the exams of 2nd semester were held but against the usual practice, the students have not been provided with the books of the semester, list of tutors and schedules. Students claimed that June 04 to August 04 was given for the classes to be held on the website of the university. August 15, was given for submission of assignments but in the absence of the course books the students remained unable to prepare assignments.

Similarly the August 25 to September 05 was meant for workshops but there would be no use of attending workshops without books, the students said.

The students also charged the university administration with intentional and on purpose worst results of the library sciences program. Students contended that university has declared 98% students “failed” despite the facts that they had been regularly attending classes and workshop and have secured 85 to 97 marks in assignments.

In view of the university’s failure the students demanded that earlier results of library sciences program be rechecked and difficulties faced by them may be addressed on priority.
