AIOU to hold gathering to honor, recall Naatkhwan Bashir Hussain on 15 Feb

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU) will hold a gathering on Monday (15th Feb) at its campus to recall the valuable and impressive role of the eminent poet and Naatkhwan Bashir Hussain Nazim who was conferred with the Pride of Performance award for his Naat recitations.

According to press release issued on Friday, Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui will preside over the function the function arranged by the Department of Mass Communication under the new series ‘Mat samjo ham nay bohla daiya’.

Other speakers of the function will include prominent literary figure Prof. Fateh Mohammad Malik, eminent poet, writer Prof. Ahsan Akbar and Dr Saqib Riaz.

Bashir Hussain Nazim had associated with the Nawa-i-Waqt and had been writing for its pages for decades. He had command over Arabic and Farsi and the way he recited Naats was unmatchable.

The function will aimed at promoting academic knowledge of the students about the people who achieved distinction in their respective field.
