Azam Rasheed, others reveal reality of black mailing gang involved in character assassination of Chairman NAB

LAHORE: Social activist Sardar Azam Rasheed and others on Friday revealed the reality of a blackmailing gang which is involved in character assassination of the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Addressing to a press conference in Lahore, the social activist and the alleged victims of blackmailing told the press that the gang is involved in character assassination of several individuals by making fake WhatsApp videos.

The victims and the social activist told the gang is comprised of a man named Farooq Naul and a female named Tayyaba Gul.

They also told that both members of the gang were from poor families and earned their livelihood by blackmailing people and now possess assets worth billions.

One of the victims named Saba Hamid also revealed that they took her to the president house in 2007 and has connections with anti-state organizations like Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM). She also told that the gang leader Farooq has married four women at a time.

She also told the media that he (Farooq) and his gang are involved in blackmailing bureaucrats and high profile civil servants.

Another victim, Shamshad told that they have registered fake cases against her children and the woman member is involved in blackmailing the top officials by visiting them for certain reasons.

Earlier in the day, The National Accountability Bureau spokesperson has rebutted the news being run by a private channel against the Bureau’s chief.

As per details, the spokesperson has strongly condemned the video being run by a private channel against Justice retired Javed Iqbal and termed it as propaganda against him.

“Airing such a video against NAB chief aimed is to harm his reputation”, the spokesperson said and added that more than 42 First Information Reports (FIRs) against the blackmailer media group and the anti-watchdog body has already arrested two men associated with the group.
