Ban can not be imposed on entire party due to disqualification of one man: LHC chief justice

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the petition seeking court’s orders for preventing PML-N from participating in election on its own name declaring it non maintainable.

LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah remarked “ ban can not be imposed on the entire party due to disqualification of a single person. Political party does not mean a single person.

Chief Justice LHC took up for hearing the petition filed by Asim Aziz advocate on Thursday.

The petitioner took the plea that PML-N stands no more registered with election commission after disqualification of Nawaz Sharif.

He prayed to court to restrain PML-N from taking part in the election in its name.
