CM Punjab approves cash award for Saeed Ahmed Awan

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved an amount of Rs. 5 million cash award for the family of Saeed Ahmad Awan,

Director Centre for the Improvement of Working Conditions & Environment, Human & Recourse Department, who passed away during service, in recognition of his meritorious services for the welfare of labourers in occupational safety and health sector.

The Chief Minister has also approved employment to his widow Tehsin Awan in the school of Punjab Workers Welfare Board as SST teacher. Moreover, he has also approved an amount of Rs. 6000/- per child for the education of his four children till graduation along with a 1000cc Car for the family of diseased.

He has also approved that Centre for the Improvement for Working Conditions and Environment may be named after Saeed Ahmad Awan as well. The summary for compensation package was proposed by Punjab Labour Department with the recommendations of Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Minister for Labour and Human Recourse.

It is pertinent to mention that Saeed Ahmad Awan was man of extra ordinary qualities in the field of Occupational Health and Safety in Pakistan; a gold medallist as well as a graduate member for Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Tutor of National Examination Board in this sector of UK. In recognition of his services, he was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and also Knight Rider Equality Award of Innovation by Tech Museum San Jose California USA.

Saeed Ahmad Awan, in his life, also authored many articles and reports on Occupational Health and Safety and Child Labour published in international journals.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);
