Court will ensure implementation of its decisions: IHC justice

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique on Thursday said the court will ensure implementation of its decisions and those creating hurdles will be sent behind bars.

The IHC judge said this during hearing of the case regarding illegal encroachments in different areas of Islamabad.

Expressing dissatisfaction over encroachments situation, Shaukat Aziz Siddique remarked that a single person has allegedly been harassing the entire management for the past 30 years and no one had courage to transfer him.

The judge also directed the authority concerned to bring the issue in the court notice when anti-elements try to create hurdle in launch of operation against encroachments in the city.

The court also observed that trillion of rupees government land is under land mafia and encroachers control.

The IHC judge directed the authority concerned to ensure implementation on the court orders and those who violate the law will be sent to jail

A single-member bench heard the case regarding encroachments in different areas of the capital city.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, Islamabad Mayor and Commissioner Islamabad appeared in the court and submitted a report regarding illegal encroachment in the city.

As per the report, the CDA will launch operation in phase wise and the first operation will be launched in Sector F-6 and in this connection, PC-1 has been completed. The report states that the CDA had permitted only two bus terminals to establish at the Faizabad Inter-change.

The court observed that some elements were creating hurdles, directing the authority concerned to bring such hurdles into the court notice. The court remarked that the encroachment should not be established again.

The court made it clear the court orders will be implemented in letter & spirit. Later, the case hearing was adjourned till May 10.
