Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, pro-freedom leaders have condemned the death threat to the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (G) Syed Ali Gilani by a Hindu underworld don, Ravi Pujari.

The APHC while condemning the threat in a statement issued at Rajbagh in Srinagar, said, “This is not only criminal but also reflected the ailing mentality of Ravi Pujari. In past too, the elements working for Hindu extremists groups had been resorting to such cheap tactics and at times also carried physical assaults and attacks on the Kashmiri freedom leaders.”

An APHC spokesman said the responsibility of Syed Ali Gilani’s safety lies with the authorities, and an take action must be taken against persons like Ravi Pujari, reported.

The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) spokesperson in a statement, said “It depicts the growing intolerance in India”.

Sikh organization, Dal Khalsa termed the death threat by gangster Ravi Pujari to Syed Ali Gilani as handiwork of India’s dirty tricks department. No gangster big or small, could dare to harm Gilani Sahib unless and until he has the tactical backing of the Indian state”, Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh and Human Rights activist Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said in a statement in Amritsar.

“The threat reflects frustration of India’s political and security establishment,” they added.
