EOBI sacked employees demand reinstatement

ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of sacked employees of EOBI on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration outside Supreme Court building and demanded the government to reinstate 358 affected employees.

The protestors requested Chief Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani to take notice of their illegal removal, adding that the contractual and regular employees were fired in 2011 by the EOBI administration on the basis of fake allegation of irregularities in the institution.

The affectees of the EOBI have also requested President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to order for reinstatement of the employees while taking action against the organization.

It is pertinent to mention that in 2010 EOBI administration properly conducted a test and interview for the recruitment according to rules and regulations. The employees were later regularized.

While in 2013 EOBI management presented a comprehensive report about the evidence of irregularities in the organization and a stance was adopted that due to irregularities in the EOBI, officers including Naib Qasids and drivers are to be fired.

The protesting employees said that due to this shameful measure of the institution around 358 families suffered unemployment and poverty.
