Fazal Ur Rehman’s brother removed from the slot of Afghan Refugees’ Commissioner

Peshawar: The Federal Government on Monday removed Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, Zia Ur Rehman, brother of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and ordered to initiate investigation against him.

According to media reports the decision was taken during a cabinet meeting. Arbab Shahzad, advisor to Prime Minister has been directed to work our inquiry report against him.

Zia ur Rehman was earlier employee of PTCL and during inquiry against him it will be ascertained how and why he was included in provincial management service.

Zia Ur Rehman who is the younger brother of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Chief Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman was appointed Commissioner for Afghan refugees during the Panama Papers investigation has also served as Deputy Commissioner Khushab.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that inquiry has been ordered against Zia ur Rehman. He was appointed as DC in Khushab. It will be ascertained how he was appointed deputy commissioner . He was appointed as commissioner Afghan refugees during Panama case and he will be replaced with another officer, he said.
