Karachi: Jamaat Islami (JI) Chief Syed Munawar Hasan said on Sunday that people didn’t give mandate to Nawaz Sharif to enhance ‘friendship’ with India, claiming that friendship with India is akin to animosity with Kashmir.

Addressing Pakistan Day convention at Nishtar Park here in Karachi, he said that military operation is not a solution to any problem and that peace cannot be imposed at gunpoint.

Addressing the convention, JI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leader and member Taliban committee Professor Ibrahim said that all political and religious parties resolved to give dialogue a chance during the sessions of All Parties Conference (APC).

He further said that talking about military operation at this point is inappropriate.

Convention also passed resolutions to change privatization policy, end inflation, and to stop revengeful activities as per Pakistan Protection Ordinance.

Earlier, Jamat ud Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed said India will never be given Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status.}
