Government to initiate measures for elimination of poverty

Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI)’s Senator Hafiz Hamad-u-llah on Friday said that we had to eat the millions of kilograms meat of donkey until measures not taken for the elimination of poverty in the country by the government and suggested that it would be just that ministry of finance should be named after ministry of charity.

Talking to reporter after debate in Senate, he said that poor has become so common as it is not in his control to avoid the corrupt practices adding that an influential mafia was backing the traders of meat of donkey and its skins and this mafia has deep rooted in state functionaries and politicians.

He expressed his concern over the negligence of state institutions saying that individuals associated with the business of donkey meat and its skins are arrested and then released adding that silence of government in this regard was meaningful and the government is answerable before nation.

Responding to a question, Senator Hamad-u-llah said that democracy in the country was limited to the slogans only adding that only wealthy people comes in the politics and they become wealthier and financially strong day by day. Accountability is done only for those people who are heirless.

Replying to another question, he said that ministry of finance plays a significant role for running the business of state, but our finance ministry asks for charity from International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other global financial institutions.

He added that we cannot stand on our footage and get economic stability while asking charity from international financial organizations.

“It is the mandatory of the government to unveil and highlight the mafia backing the traders of donkey meat and skins adding that government to initiate significant measures for the welfare of people”, he concluded.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);
