ISLAMABAD: Government has decided to take advantage of growing differences between PPP and PML-N and government will now contact every opposition party instead of PDM leadership in connection with constitution of parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.

Speaker National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaisar has contacted PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf in this respect and has invited him to join parliamentary committee for electoral reforms.

Raja Pervez Ashraf has sought time for consultation with the party leadership on this count.

Sources said earlier decision was to be taken from the platform of PDM for participating in the parliamentary committee on electoral reforms. Following the differences between PPP and PML-N, now every party will take its own decision on this matter.

PPP sources said it does not need to make consultation with PML-N to join parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.

PML-N had laid condition for joining parliamentary committee that Prime Minister should contact them in this regard.

Sources told NA speaker had sought name for constitution of parliamentary committee on electoral reforms a week earlier. No opposition party has given name so far. If PML-N does not give any name then speaker NA will constitute parliamentary committee after obtaining names from PPP.
