LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that the nation was mistakenly expecting that the premier will take them into confidence over the recently proposed annual budget of the country.

Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly he said that this budget will crush the masses under inflation. This is the first budget when a barber, taxi driver and a launderer will have to pay a tax of 16 percent.

He said that the Punjab province is the heart of this country and its prime business is agriculture and the government has suddenly increased the water rate for the farmers. Masses were ignored in the recent budget.

He said, “Punjab’s affairs were handed over to a non-experienced chief minister.”

“The country hasn’t faced such economic crisis in the past 70 years,” he added.

“I feel sympathy for the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar,” he further said. “Government’s only focus is to take on its opponents,” he said.

“There is political unrest among the country because of the failed policies of Niazi,” he concluded.
