IHC adjourns hearing of Nawaz Sharif petition in connection with London properties

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned till June 20 hearing of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif petition pertaining to London properties.

A division bench of IHC comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani on Tuesday took up for hearing Nawaz Sharif petition seeking deferment in connection with the final arguments in the case.

At the inception of hearing, Khawaja Haris legal advisor to Nawaz Sharif did not appear in the court. His junior counsel made request to court regarding withdrawal of his power of attorney.

NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar told the court power of attorney has been withdrawn before receiving the order of Supreme court (SC) . This petition has become ineffective after SC orders.

NAB prosecutor told the court prosecution has completed final arguments in Avenfield Properties reference.

Justice Amir Farooq ordered court should continue its proceedings due to lack of stay order.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani questioned “ will Nawaz Sharif come in the court in person to give arguments.

Legal advisor of Sharif family remained silent over it.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 20.
