Islamabad: The reluctance of Enforcement Department in Capital Development Authority (CDA), to purge illegal constructions erected adjacent to Government residences in parts of Federal Capital, has revealed alleged involvement of CDA Officials as encroachment on state land remains yet to be cleared off.

A visit to the Sector G-7 and G-6 in Islamabad shows that government employees (most of them are CDA officials), residing in the government quarters have constructed illegal structure on the greenbelts, and streets adjacent their houses.

Some of them had rented out rooms constructed on the state land under auspices of CDA.

Claims to remove illegal encroachments by concerned departments in CDA have yielded no good results as majority of the residents have encroached state land to set up garages to park their vehicles.

The encroachment made by the government official is said to be an act of misuse of authority which falls under the ambit of the schedule offences of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Residents of the area have demanded for action against the erecting an illegal structure on the state land.
