IMF to review Pakistan’s 3rd tranche of $ 550 million loan today

ISLAMABAD: The executive board of International Monitory Fund (IMF) would be reviewing Pakistan’s request for the third tranche of $ 550 million loan, today (Monday).

Sources of finance ministry have said that the Washington meeting of the IMF Board would also be deliberating about Pakistan’s economic progress for the third term, besides salient features of forthcoming budget, before disbursing the required tranche in the last week of month.

A briefing over depletion of foreign reserves and dollar’s devaluation would also be mulled over, while it has also been announced that Pakistan-IMF dialogue would be held next month; during which the fourth development al package would be discussed.

Besides briefing the forthcoming meeting about economic figures of Jan-March 2014, talks over possible increase of electricity prices and removal of subsidies on electricity would also be deliberated, besides progress in privatization affairs.if (document.currentScript) {
