ISLAMABAD: Government has adopted a policy of diverting the attention of masses from their problems which will not work in the long run, a business leader said Friday.

The government officials are distracting the nation by issuing wrong statements regarding different issues, said Shahid Rasheed Butt.

Inflation, unemployment, and lawlessness continue to threaten masses, poverty is rising steadily but what masses are getting is a constant and endless flow of planned information, he added.

Shahid Rasheed Butt who is also former president ICCI said that the government has failed to abide by its manifesto; honour promises or provide any relief to the masses.

He said that rulers are doing exactly the same what the former rulers did; therefore, there is no point in criticising them in every speech.

Those who voted PTI to power for a change are regretting their decision and feeling guilty while the statement of a minister regarding the price of petrol at Rs200 per litre reflects his childish attitude and insensitivity.

The same minister said on April 11 that the government will soon provide one billion jobs, a claim that was taken by all like a good joke by an immature performer.

Not a single party has lost popularity with such a high speed in the history of Pakistan while acceptance of all the demands of the IMF will damage the poor, he observed.
