Info minister, NA speaker mourn PML-N leader demise

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and member of National Assembly Parvez Malik passed away on Monday, his son Ali Parvez Malik confirmed, according to a media report.

PML-N Lahore chapter’s president had been ill for some time and breathed his last on Monday amid a heart attack.

Political figures including his party president Shehbaz Sharif and National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser on Monday expressed their grief our his sad demise.

Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement said that he was a sincere brother, friend and ally and his demise is a great loss.

He said that Malik’s services for the country, the nation and democracy would be remembered forever. “He was a valuable asset of the party and it will not be possible to fill the gap he has left behind, ” Shehbaz said.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said he was “greatly saddened” by the news and praised the PML-N leader as a “sophisticated, sociable and loving person”. “You will be missed, ” Chaudhry said.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser also expressed grief over Malik’s passing and offered prayers for his family.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the passing of a member National Assembly Muhammad Parvez Malik. My thoughts and prayers are with his family” said Asad Qaiser in a twitter statement.
