Iranian FM calls on PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Iranian Finance Minister (FM) has called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The two leaders exchanged views on regional situation and matters of mutual interest and agreed to continue cooperation on bilateral matters.

Iranian FM along with his delegation reached PM house Friday and held meeting with PM Imran Khan at delegation level.

Later Iranian FM along with delegation visited Foreign Office where Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed them.

Earlier during the delegation level talks between Pakistan and Iran in Foreign Office Pak-Iran ties, regional security and matters of mutual interest came under discussion.

Both sides agreed on reinforcing bilateral relations and continuing cooperation on bilateral issues. The prevailing tension between US and Iran came also under consideration.

Talking about prevailing US-Iran tension Shah Mehmood Qureshi said tension in the region is not in the interest of any one. There is need that all the stake holders exercise restraint and tolerance at international level.

Pakistan supports all the outstanding issues are sorted out at diplomatic level, he added.

The two sides while expressing satisfaction over implementation of decisions taken during PM Imran Khan visit to Iran agreed on continuing cooperation on bilateral matters.

Iranian FM Javad Zarif said “we hold in esteem the efforts being made by Pakistan for the sake of peace.
