RAWALPINDI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that it is the time to get rid of this ‘puppet government’ as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s every promise and slogan proved a lie.

Talking to media outside Adiala Jail on Monday after meeting with his father PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto said that jail is not new for former president and party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he had spent 11 years in jail.

Bilawal said that the country’s judicial system is the way that an accused is arrested, and asked what will happen to a common man if such treatment is with the former president. “Asif Zardari is ill but he will not compromise on principles,” Bilawal said.

Criticizing the government, he said that when the PPP comes to power, it works for welfare of poor rather than the rich but today people are worried because of rising inflation. They have been drowned in a tsunami of inflation.

“We want to fight and will fight. Why should we strike a deal if we did not commit a crime?” he said. The PPP chairman said that he had different point of view over the politics of the sit-in. “The judicial system is the same as it was in the era of Musharraf,” he said.

“Rawalpindi is the place where the judicial murder of PPP founder chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was committed,” he said. He said that the court orders are not being implemented. “We faced dictators. We will also fight against this puppet government,” he said.

The PPP chairman said that the economic murder of the common man had been committed. “The government is following the policy of pleasing the selectors. A selected government assumes the power on the order of someone else. It does not come through votes,” he said.

He said that the people have been burdened with the taxes. “The PPP is the only one party that fought for the common man. It introduced the Benazir Income Support Program and increased the salaries and pensions by 100 per cent,” he maintained.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP also wants to protest and contacting the people. “I hope the people will support us,” he said.

Bilawal Bhutto has said that deal is not an option for his party. He said that his party has always stood in front of oppression and they would fight till end.

Bilawal further said that political opponents are being arrested without any evidence. “There has been not a single allegation proved against arrested members of our party. It would be equal to crossing red line if they arrest our CM,” he warned.

Referring to Kashmir crisis and PM’s speech in UNGA, he said that PM did not take any significant step after abrogation of Article 370.

“Speech is not enough. There should have been an action against India’s illegal move,” Bilawal said asking if this had ever happened in any PM’s tenure during the history of Pakistan. He added that Kashmiris should have the right to self-determination and independence.
