KP government to hold provincial assembly elections in tribal districts in May

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has postponed the local elections in the tribal districts and decided to first hold provincial assembly elections on 17 seats.

As the configuration work of constituencies for the provincial assembly elections will be completed in current month (December) so the elections on 17 seats will be held in May 2019, while the local elections have been postponed for now, sources said.

An application in this regard had been already submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

In addition, the KP government has also decided to keep intact the services of Levies and Frontier corps.
