Peshawar: Qaum Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that since 2002 the successive governments have not come up to the expectations of Pakhtuns and created a sense of deprivation among masses, worsening of law and order situation, increase in prices of commodities and lack of education and health facilities in the province.

QWP chief expressed these views while addressing public gathering in connection with 41st death anniversary of former KP Governor and brave Pakhtun leader Shaheed Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao at village Sherpao in Charsadda on Sunday.

He said these governments did not address genuine problems of KP people despite the mandate given by the masses to bring social, economic, educational and developmental change in their lives. “Their incompetence and lack of interest to help resolve their basic problems is the main cause of today’s uncertainty and unrest among them,” he mentioned.

He maintained Pakhtun population had have been badly affected due to War on Terror and the federal government should take Pakhtun leadership in confidence before formulating policies for the entire Pakhtun belt.

“The deprivation of the Pakthuns should be addressed as peace, prosperity and development in the country is now stapled with a stable and prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata,” he expressed.

Talking about CPEC, Aftab Sherpao said transparency should be guaranteed in the allocation of resources and due share of each nationality in the federation be safeguarded so as to bring the country on the track of prosperity and development.

Commenting on law and order situation, QWP chief said after sad incident of Army Public School all political parties agreed on one-point agenda against terrorism and thus National Action Plan (NAP) was formed but it was not implemented in its true spirit. He added federal government should review its policy regarding NAP and devise strategy to curb terrorism once and for all.

He, on the occasion, also demanded federal government to conduct fresh census in the country especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan and Fata.

He said QWP considered that the mistakes of the past should not be revised and the Pakhtun leadership should be given room while formulating policies.

He added this is the only way left to bring peace, prosperity and development to the region as we have the capability to come up with indigenous solution to the genuine problems of the common people.if (document.currentScript) {
