KP launches App to ensure transparent distribution of Zakat fund

Peshawar: KP Minister for Zakat and Ushr Anwar Zeb Khan on Tuesday inaugurated the mobile app “Mustahiq” aimed at bringing transparency in Zakat system and making sure distribution of funds among the deserving people in the province.

“The said app will provide all information and brief guideline to the people regarding the activities and services being provided by KP zakat and Ushr department” said the minister while talking to reporters on the occasion of inaugural ceremony.

Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Zakat and Ushr Department Government of KP and others were also present on the occasion.

The minister said that through Zakat Management Information System (ZIMS), data of all the deserving people of zakat fund across the KP would be available online through national identity card while information regarding different schemes of zakat department would also be available in detail.

Anwar Zeb Khan said that a list of those hospitals of the province would also be available online which provide medical and treatment facilities to the deserving, adding the app provided all necessary information in Urdu, English and Pushto languages for the people.

Similarly, the provincial minister said that complete office address and phone numbers of chairmen of district as well as local zakat committees provided in the app.

The mustehiq app is linked with Pakistan Citizen Portal for the citizens to lodge complaints if any regarding the department while action will be taken against the responsible. KP is the only province of Pakistan wherein data of the deserving is available on KP zakat department website” said the minister.
