KP receives rain, hailstones with gusty winds

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Thursday received rain-hailstones and thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills during the last 24 hours giving sign of relief to the people from dust pollution and respiratory disease in most of the cities.

According to Met Office,weather remained partly cloudy in most parts of the region, however thunder-rain occurred at Peshawar,Kohat, Hazara, Mardan and Malakand divisions. The chief amount of rain was recorded in mm as:

Pattan 54, Kalam 39, Malamjabba 34, Dir 31, Drosh 13, MirKhani 10, Saidu Sharif and Chitral 08, Kohat 05, Peshawar 04, Risalpur, Balakot and Timergara 03.

Mainly partly cloudy weather would prevail in most parts of the region during next 24 to 48 hours. However thunderstorm-rain with gusty winds and snowfall over the hills was expected at scattered places in Malakand, Bunner, Shangla, Swat, Chitral, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Bajaur, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Kurram, Mardan, Swabi, while at isolated places in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Khyber, Mohmand and Orakzai districts.

The minimum temperature recorded in major cities of the province during the last 24 was as:

Peshawar 14C, Parachinar 9, Bannu 15, DIKhan 17, Kohat 16, Dir 8, Kakul 12, Kalam 1.
