KP to impose ban on the movement on Fourth Schedule

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to impose ban on the movement of 4,500 people include in the Fourth Schedule.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Fourth Schedule is include “any person who is an activist, office-bearer or and an associate of an organization kept under observation or proscribed or affiliated with any group or organization on suspected to be involved in terrorism or sectarianism”.

The decision is being taken to prevent untoward incidents during the upcoming Muharram ul Haram. The ban will be for 59 districts, including Peshawar and Tribal Areas. It will remain imposed from 1st to 10 Muharramul Haram. A majority of people in the fourth schedule belong to Peshawar district.

The sources said that the relevant department has started review of the list so that those who have been killed or die their natural death can be removed from the list.

The fourth schedule is available with all federal and provincial relevant departments and individuals, including Interior ministry, provincial deputy commissioners, DPOs and SHOs.

The decision is being taken under the National Action Plan (NAP) and it will help to maintain law and order situation in the province during Muharram.

The relevant police stations have also started taking measures to ensure presence of the persons included in the list.
