LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday granted bail to the former director general Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema in LDA city case.

According to details, the court heard the illegal assets and Ashiyana Iqbal housing cases against Ahad Cheema.

As the hearing started, Ahad Cheema’s lawyer took the stance in the court that the LDA City reference had not been submitted in the court for last 1 and a half year.

The lawyer pleaded the court to release the former DG LDA Ahad Cheema on bail.

The NAB prosecutor, while not contending the plea, said that if Ahad Cheema’s bail was granted in the case, there would be no objection. “No other LDA employee has been made an accused”, NAB prosecutor added.

The Lahore High Court then ordered the release of former DG LDA Ahad Cheema on bail.

The High Court granted bail to Ahad Cheema in one of the three cases against him and adjourned the proceedings till the next hearing in the Asian Housing Reference and Illegal Assets Case.
