LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif’s bail petitions tomorrow (Monday) in the Ramzan Sugar Mills and money laundering cases.

According to details, a new two-member bench of LHC, headed by Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi and comprising Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed will hear the pleas of Hamza Shahbaz. The court has already summoned reply from NAB on the petitions filed by Hamza Shahbaz.

Hamza Shahbaz had filed bail petitions in the Ramzan Sugar Mills and money laundering cases.

Earlier, a bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi was conducting hearings on Hamza Shahbaz’s bail pleas.

On previous hearing, the Lahore High Court served notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) until January 13 in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz’s bail plea in Ramzan Sugar Mills case.

The two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi took up the case. Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and DG NAB Lahore were made party.

As the hearing started, the bench remarked that earlier Hamza Shahbaz raised objection over the LHC’s bench. “Did you get instructions from Hamza Shahbaz about this bench”, the bench added.

In response, Lawyer of Hamza Shehbaz, Khawaja Amjad Parvez and Azam Nazir Tarar informed the court that the PML-N leader has full confidence in the two-member bench of the Lahore high Court.

The court then issued notices to NAB in Hamza Shebaz bail plea for January 13.

The petition said that the NAB has initiated Ramzan Sugar Mills inquiry with malicious intentions. They initiated the inquiry score of times but failed to find any irregularity, he said.

The bureau found no evidence against Hamza, while co-accused in case Shehbaz Sharif has already granted bail by the court, according to the petition.
