Liaqat Baloch greets countrymen & Muslim Ummah on Eidul Fitr

LAHORE: Acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has greeted the Muslim Ummah, especially the people of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr.

In a message, he said that the sacred month of Ramazan had passed showering its blessings and divine mercy all around. He urged the faithful to extend every possible help and support to the poor and deserving on the occasion of Eid in accordance with the true spirit of Ramazan.

He said that Eid did not mean unbridled pleasures. Instead, the believers should celebrate the happy occasion while remaining within the limits of piety and decency.

The JI acting Ameer said that price spiral before and during the month of Ramazan had caused many problems for the fasting people and their purchasing power had been further curtailed at the time of Eid.

Earlier, the JI Acing chief attended the funeral of the Ameer of the JI for southern Punjab Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, at Bahawalpur. Later, he also joined the Ghaibana Namaz e Janaza of Dr Syed Waseem akhtar held at the Mansoora mosque. Senior JI leader hafiz Mohammad Idrees, led the prayer.

Speaking on the occasion, Liaqat Baloch paid rich tributes to the deceased for his qualities of head and heart and his services for Islam and the JI.

He said that Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar was a highly respected and popular leader in his area and was the embodiment of piety, decency, grace and honesty. He said the death of Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar was a great loss not only for the JI but also all religious and democratic forces.
