LAHORE : Liaqat Baloch, Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Secretary General of the Milli Yakjehti Council has termed the demise of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan as a national shock and a common grief of the entire nation. He said that Dr. Qadeer achieved nuclear capability with his team, strength of faith and patriotism, provided a reliable barrier system against external aggression forces. The entire nation is proud of Dr. Qadeer Khan’s services. He was an all-round personality: an engineer, a nuclear scientist, a writer, a poet and a columnist and a man of high temperament.

Liaqat Baloch offered funeral prayers on the occasion of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s funeral prayers at Faisal Masjid Islamabad with thousands of people present in the porches, premises and courtyard of the mosque due to heavy rains and disruption of the system due to stormy situation. Talking to reporters on the occasion, Liaqat Baloch said that he had been very friendly with Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan since 1985 and always discussed national issues. The day before his death, Dr. Qadeer telephoned him, we had a long conversation and agreed to meet on October 13 at 4: 00 PM, but Allah did not give him a respite.
