NA passes condemnation resolution against President Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) has passed condemnation resolution against the president of Pakistan on his unconstitutional orders while GDA has nodded no to this resolution.

The resolution was presented by Mohsin Dawar. It was said in the text of the resolution that president issued unconstitutional orders on the matter of appointment of governor Punjab. The president misused the office of Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The Attorney General (AG) Ashtar Ausaf told the house that Supreme Court (SC) has interpreted the powers of the president regarding appointment and removal of governor by him. The court has said in clear terms that whosoever appoints can remove.

A resolution was presented in the NA against the president Arif Alvi.

MNA Mohsin Dawar said president has violated article 64 of the constitution in the matter of removal of governor. This resolution bears the signatures of all parties; therefore, this should be approved.

GDA opposed to approve the resolution against the president.
