Non-serious practice , IGP Islamabad orders to take action against fake callers

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has decided to take action against wrong callers. He revealed this during his visit to Safe City Project office in Islamabad on Thursday. It is pertinent to mention here that the Islamabad police have set-up a control room in Safe City project (SCP) to response any emergency call immediately but some non-serious individuals taking the control room as fun and involved in wrong calls.

The police, however, decided to eliminate the bogus calls. He said special training will be given to the call operators to use soft language while responding callers.

Police spokesperson told Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan on Thursday visited safe city project office. DIG Headquarters Nasir Mehmood, DIG Operation Faisal Ali, SSP Operations Waqaruddin and SP Safe City Hasam Bin Iqbal were also with IGP.

The IGP talked with staff which was present at the safe city office and inquired about the number of calls they are receiving.

The control room receives an average 35 to 40 calls a day, IGP was informed. He directed the officials to improve their performance and further enhance their response time. He emphasized on the training of the call operators.

He directed the operators to adopt the way the callers consider them their well-wisher and protector. He directed the operators to take national identity card number of callers so they can get information about genuine and fake callers.

He further directed the staff to not keep all lines engage and also categorize the kind of calls they are receiving.
