Number of Pindi’s localities face zero gas pressure

Rawalpindi: The residents of different localities of Rawalpindi were facing sui-gas shortage as zero gas pressure in different localities of Rawalpindi forced people to go for alternative sources including firewood and coal to keep their kitchen running and warm themselves in chilly conditions

The sources have disclosed that as sui-gas shortage issues prevailed in areas the concerned authorities have increased prices of LNG, dry wood, coal without any check and fear.

The areas where residents were facing low gas pressure including Dahmal Ashraf Colony, Jhanda Chichi, Chaklal Scheme-3, Rehmatabad, Jabir Colony,, Gowalmandi Yousif Colony, Aslam Colony, Muslim Town, Sadiqabad and other areas. “Women who are not used to cooking with firewood, somehow managed to cook meal using firewood and coal,” one of the resident said.

During the survey mort of the residents stated that government had failed to cope with the energy crisis, as electricity load-shedding in summer and gas load-shedding in winter had become a routine.

“We have registered several complaints against authority concerned but it did not pay any heed towards the alarming issue. “Earlier, CNG stations used to be held responsible for low pressure. Now, faulty supply lines were blamed for zero gas pressure. Basically, poor management has caused the gas shortage,” they added.
