Pakistan’s commendable role against eliminating terrorism lauded

Islamabad: Shaarik H. Zafar Special Representative to Muslim Communities U.S. State Department has said that across the world, Muslims are facing sever challenges and passing through turmoil of the time, to get rid of menace of terrorism and extremism, it is utmost need to value education and to empower youth which is precious asset of Muslim communities.

Shaarik Zafar expressed these views while interacting with discussion forum organized by Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IIIRD), International Islamic University Islamabad. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Rector IIUI, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed, Executive Director IRD, Vice Presidents IIUI, Deans, Directors and other high officials also attended session with US delegation.

Shaarik Zafar said that Muslims are major victims of terrorism and Pakistan’s role in war against terrorism is highly commendable as the country has sacrificed a lot of lives to curb this nuisance.

He further added that issues and challenges including security, economies and progress lingered with Muslim communities and countries that are needed to be discussed in the frame of dialogue and interaction at certain forums.

“Islam is a religion, clear like pure water with no contamination level; everything open to explore”. Shaarik said. Special US Representative was of the view that message of tolerance and moralities which Islam teaches must be disseminated with honesty.

In his talk, Dr. Masoom conveyed the core message and objectives of IIUI and appreciated the vision of President Obama to extend its courtesy towards Muslim community. “We are focusing at internationalization and lines of moderation to display true picture of Islam across the world” Dr. Masoom added.

He said that IIUI producing individuals highly envisioned with tolerance, moderate attitudes and educate them with lines of contemporary needs. Dr. Masoom apprised the delegates that IIUI is fast growing university where students from more than forty states are being educated with contemporary needs highly integrated with Islam and they are the ambassadors of the university across the world.

Meanwhile, Shaarik H. Zafar, also spoke to the students of Political Science at the Lincoln Corner of the IIUI on role of Muslim communities in peace across the world and in US particularly. He also highlighted Pakistan –US shared goals. Answering to a question, Special US Representative said that media plays crucial role in image building of a country and it is of core importance in terms of achievements of any vital goal such as defeating the menace of terrorism.var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’);
