Paramilitary forces deployment in Islamabad extended for 90 days

Islamabad: Deployment of Pakistan paramilitary forces in the federal capital has been extended on Friday by as many as 90 days.

The federal interior ministry, on summery of chief commissioner Zulfiqar Hyder, has issued an official notification in the matter.

Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar had approved extension in deployment of Rangers and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts in Islamabad for 90 days.

The extension was approved under amendment-act of ATC.

Paramilitary soldiers have been deployed in Islamabad for security purposes.

At least 1500 soldiers of Rangers and 50 personnel of Rangers and Gilgit-Baltistan are performing duties in the federal capital now days.

Paramilitary forces were deployed in Islamabad during Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf sit-in in Islamabad.}
