Lahore: The weekly coordination meeting of high officials of Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) was held on Wednesday with Managing Director Tariq Mahmood in the chair.

Besides Program Directors, DMD (Ops.) Tariq Rafiq also attended the meeting. The meeting discussed in detail the pace of progress on different free educational programs espoused by the foundation and expressed the hope that this would benefit the low income families who have sent their children to PEF sponsored schools.

Tariq Mahmood said that PEF is greatly contributing to fulfilling the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab by opening the doors of quality education to disfranchised segments of the society.

The number of PEF beneficiaries has risen to 1.9 million, he added. It’s a great societal contribution as parents are not burdened because their schooling is funded by the PEF.

He asked the senior officials to work hard so that the target of enrolling 2.8 million needy children belonging to the disfranchised communities could be achieved by 2018.

MD PEF Tariq Mahmood also met with a delegation of school partners at his office and appreciated their role in education-promotion through funding from the foundation.

Meanwhile, 20399 students of 564 private schools from 35 districts appeared in 10th pre-quality

assurance test of foundation assisted school program of the PEF.}
