HAGUE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the international community to maintain political will to advance the agenda of nuclear security.

In his opening remarks at the informal plenary on the future of the Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague, he said constant vigilance at the national level and international cooperation are necessary to strengthen nuclear security.

The prime minister said it is good to see that the entire membership of the IAEA will own and upholds the decisions taken by the Nuclear Security Summits after 2016.

He underlined the need for dispelling the impression that the Nuclear Security Summit process is imposing new mandates on the Agency.

Nawaz Sharif said the focus should be on synergy and coordination among various components of the nuclear security architecture in post-2016.var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’);
