PM Imran Khan will be sent packing till the end of this year: Bilawal

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be sent packing till the end of this year.

Talking to media persons outside the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after meeting with his father former president Asif Ali Zardair on Monday, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is not letting the parliament work and not giving the House respect.

The PPP chairman said that his party would also take action like Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman if political rivals are locked in jails.

Speaking about Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Azadi March, Bilawal said that party’s consultative meeting has been summoned to discuss the matter in detail.

“We want democracy in the country,” Bilawal said and added they were moving forward raising the flag of democracy.

Regarding former president and party co-chairman, he said that Asif Ali Zardari is sick but his motivations are high, adding that he neither ran in the past nor he would now. “The former president is not being provided medical facilities in jail,” he added. He said that his father Asif Ali Zardari is being deprived of basic health facilities.

“Despite court’s order Asif Zardari is not being provided with health facilities. They just want to pressurize us with these tactics. All I would say is that they can accuse us but at least do not violate basic human rights,” he said urging the law enforcing authorities take notice.

Bilawal further said that this selected government is afraid of elections.

“The government is afraid of re-elections as they know the consequences but we are not willing to compromise on ideologies. We have to send this selected government home” he said.

Bilawal said the chairperson said that, “We are with Maulana’s struggle and we will continue our struggle side by side. Bilawal added that though his party does not favour dharna politics, but if the system doesn’t work properly they will be forced to stage a sit-in.

He said that his party is ready to face any kind of oppression and they are moving forward with the flag of democracy. Bilawal further said that PTI government is unable to pass a single bill in parliament and not letting democratic structure work properly.
